The Pushback: Reality’s Gentle Resistance
When plans meet practice, resistance appears; not as personal attack but as necessary caution.
Experienced tradespeople point out practical limits, managers flag scheduling or permitting constraints, and supply issues remind everyone that timing matters.
It’s frustrating at first, and a little humbling.
Over time those reactions stop being roadblocks and start being lessons.
The engineer learns to listen, to ask better questions, and to bring evidence and empathy to the table. Credibility is built slowly, one thoughtful conversation at a time.
